Really pleased to be reading with other shortlistees for the Saltire Literary Awards. We’ll hit Waterstones Dumfries on Wednesday 12 November at 6pm, where Liz Lochhead will be joining us, before heading to Waterstones Inverness on Wednesday 19 again at 6pm, alongside Elizabeth Reeder. If you’re in the area it would be super lovely to see you.

Celebrating 30 Years of the Scottish Poetry Library

Delighted to be contributing to a Celebration of 30 Years of the Scottish Poetry Library at this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival. Join us at the RBS Garden Theatre at 8.30pm on Sunday 17 August, it’ll be lovely.

Since 1984 the Scottish Poetry Library has celebrated poetry in all its forms. The last 30 years have seen a wonderful array of prize-winners, the birth of the Makar and poet laureate. To mark the 30th anniversay, Join founder Tessa Ransford along with poet Jen Hadfield and other friends, who read a selection of their own poems and favourites from the last three decades. Chaired by Robyn Marsack.

A Bird is Not A Stone

Please join us for the Edinburgh launch of A Bird is Not a Stone, a groundbreaking anthology of Palestinian poetry translated into the languages of Scotland. 

The collection features by 25 contemporary Palestinian poets and as many Scots writers, including the makar Liz Lochhead, Costa Award winner Kathleen Jamie and Guardian Fiction Prize winner Alasdair Gray.

The evening will include readings of poems from the collection in both the original and translations by Liz Lochhead, Abla Oudeh, Liz Niven, Harry Giles, Rachel McCrum and Ryan Van Winkle.
